It involves the integration of a rule-based geometric system, a series of measurable goals, and a system for automatically generating, evaluating, and evolving a very large number of design options. Generative design is a framework for combining digital computation and human creativity to achieve results that would not otherwise be possible. This article presents the concept behind the project and details of the Dynamo-based tool that Van Wijnen uses for new layouts, how the tool is used, and how it has changed the way the firm approaches urban planning projects. Van Wijnen wanted to apply generative design at the urban scale, exploring possibilities around the layout of residential areas based on financial, sociological, or environmental metrics. In late 2016, The Living was approached by Van Wijnen, an innovative Dutch construction company interested in reinventing the way the firm built homes. They have completed successful projects for Airbus-the famous bionic partition for the A320-and internal to Autodesk, including both the design of the new office in Toronto’s MaRS Discovery District and the Exhibit Hall layout for Autodesk University 2017. is provided as-is.Autodesk Research’s in-house architectural studio, The Living, is a pioneer in the application of generative design technology. You may only use this DLL with the Revit IFC open-source project. By using this DLL, you agree to the Autodesk Terms of Use ( ) and the Autodesk Privacy Statement ( ).
It also includes, which is a proprietary file owned by Autodesk and licensed under the Autodesk Terms of Use. It relies on ANTLR 4 which uses the BSD license.

The Revit IFC open source uses the Lesser General Public License version 2.0 (LGPLv2). Developers may also add an internal Autodesk Jira number/link to an Issue, but this is for internal reference and tracking only and not accessible to the general public. These Labels and Milestones will make it easier to track Issues and their resolutions from both end user and developer sides. Later, the developer will add the Issue to a Milestone to indicate the version it was addressed/fixed. The Autodesk developers will verify and correct those labels if needed, as well as add a Status label. Ideally, each Issue should include a Type, Component, and Version Label from the reporting user. Issue Status (set by Autodesk Developers) In addition to Label, please indicate at beginning of Issue text the exact incremental versions of Revit (e.g. (will expand as more versions are released) More Labels of this type can be added as needed/requested by users and developers, but this should be a relatively simple list to make high-level sorting and identifying quicker and easier. Inquiry: a question about functionality and/or UI/UX but not a Problem or an Enhancement.Enhancement: a request change to improve functionality and/or user interface (UI) and/or experience (UX).Problem: a "bug" or some kind of mistake found during the use of the functionality.In addition to Label, please indicate the exact incremental versions of Revit (e.g. When reporting an issue, please use the Labels to classify the nature of the Issue to the best of your knowledge.

This contains the source code for Link IFC, IFC export and the IFC export UI. The open source version can override the version that comes standard with shipped Revit. NET code used by Revit 2019 and Revit LT 2019 to support IFC.
